As a three-generation family business, the Albig family opened Images In Glass, Inc. in 1979 in Hamburg, NY. However, the story starts when Glen and Pat met in 1968 in the Art Major admissions line at Rosary Hill College, now Daemon University.
The pair started buying glass from a local studio, run by a member of the British Society of Master Glass Painters. Glen was later hired at this studio, and two years later the owner left the business to Glen. He hired and trained Pat, who went on to become the first female stained glass glazier journeyman in New York State. In 2003, their son, Colin, started as an apprentice glazier/painter and is now a foreman; in 2015 their grandson, Alex, joined the family business.
Local Leaded Glass Windows Work and Stained Glass Restoration
Images In Glass, Inc. historic restoration work can be seen at Our Lady of Victory Basilica, local churches, the Gardener’s Cottage at the Darwin Martin House and the Guaranty Building in Buffalo, NY. Commissioned pieces and stained glass panels are in many homes and several mausoleums at Forest Lawn Cemetery as well. Ask to tour our studio, and you can see finished pieces and works in progress.
